“My style of therapy draws from Cognitive Behavioral; Acceptance and Commitment therapy/mindfulness. My passion is for learning your story and working alongside you to find the solutions that work for you. I’m here to help you examine what you’ve already lived through and find the path forward. In my work with people with trauma I’ve learned that we often need the reminder – no matter what you have struggled with; you are a survivor and that needs to be brought to light. Keeping that in mind; I am guided by the client towards the goals that they feel are necessary for their treatment.”

I believe that each client already embodies the necessary information and skills to create the changes that will allow them to achieve their goals with independence and confidence. My goal as a therapist is to create an inviting and safe space where I can listen and encourage clients to harness their inner strengths and explore their current emotions so that we can identify areas for growth and begin to implement healthy changes.

I began my career in counseling with a Masters in Music Therapy. My first job in the field required me to do verbal counseling as well. I took a three year training in Gestalt Therapy which really taught me how to do verbal counseling well. Throughout my career I have worked with many clients dealing with many different problems. I have used many different approaches depending on the needs of my clients. Lately I have been using Acceptance and Commitment therapy which is similar to Gestalt Therapy. Both are focused on the here and now and getting out of our heads and into our senses.
